(The Boy in the Red Ves)」が盗まれたというのは、かなりショッキング。

あとはドガの「Viscount Lepic and His Daughters from 1871」とゴッホの「Blossoming Chestnut Branches from 1890」

the three-strong gang who were wearing ski masks and dark clothing entered the museum half-an-hour before closing on Sunday.

One of the robbers used a pistol to force museum personnel to the floor, while two other members of the gang went into the exhibition hall and collected the four masterpieces.(Mirror.co.uk)

これらの作品は、美術館長Lukas Gloorによりますと、among the most prized in the museum’s 200-piece collection.

the stolen paintings were so well-known that “on the open market, these pictures are unsellable.” (The News)

"Very often when paintings like this are stolen they are used in the criminal underworld as collateral, say to repay a debt,"(OTTAWACITIZEN.COM)

they were hanging in a row and the thieves seemed to have simply removed what they could.(gardian.co.uk)

they appeared to have grabbed the first four they came to, as they left even more valuable works hanging in the same room.(Telegraph.co.uk)

“We had done everything we could to protect the paintings to the best of our knowledge and capability.”(guardian.co.uk)
